On 30 June – 2 July 2023 the S-Z Foundation hosted a rural retreat dedicated to the interaction between nature, plants, herbs, science and the arts. The main aim of the retreat was to provide new insights, and artistic inspiration to the participants based on a closer interaction with plants, herbs, and nature in the setting of the Balkan village – home of the space of the S-Z Foundation.
The participants included a interdisciplinary mix of visual artists, musicians engaged in contemporary experimental music, writers, video artists, dancers, writers and many others. The key presenter was Nadezhda Maksimova – a clinical herbalist, author and explorer with over 20 years’ experience of studying, teaching, and applying herbal knowledge and interaction between complex systems.
